In this talk, we will explore how Orama, a distributed full-text and vector search engine, is challenging the industry with a unique solution to the problem of search engines' cost and performance. Due to its "functional architecture", Orama stands apart as it becomes cheaper and faster the more it is used. But what exactly is a functional architecture, and how can a complex, distributed system under stress outperform a restful distributed system? What part do JavaScript and WASM play in this project?Answers to all these questions will be covered in the talk.
