The Quiplash Showdown: Go vs Rust vs Scala

Quiplash, a web-based game in which players answer prompts like "A double rainbow doesn't have gold at the end of it. Instead, it has _________" on your phone and then vote for the funniest answer, serves as a prime example for employing the Actor model. The Actor model is a design pattern for concurrent computing where entities, called actors, exchange messages with one another.In this presentation, Jim will discuss how to implement a turn-based multiplayer game using Go, Rust, and Scala. The emphasis will be on evaluating the performance, reliability, and developer experience associated with each implementation.By the end of this talk, listeners will have a better understanding of the tradeoffs between Go, Rust, and Scala.
